Program & Faculty Presentations

ANAEROBE 2000 will be held July 10-12, 2000 in the Geoffrey Manton Conference Center on the campus of Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester, England. A variety of topics relating to anaerobes will be addressed in general and concurrent sessions. Papers will be given by more than 200 participants, including talks by our distinguished international faculty and peer-reviewed oral and poster presentations by researchers from 30 countries over six continents. In addition, Dr. Sydney M. Finegold will provide the Keynote Address, "The Role of Anaerobes in Non-Infectious Diseases," on the opening afternoon.

Informational exhibits from industry will be displayed in the Center's atrium and lobby. A Congress banquet will be held on the Sherlock Holmes Baker Street set at Granada Television Studios on the evening of Tuesday, July 11. At this dinner, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Professor Madeline Sebald of France, and Dr. Carl E. Nord will provide an after dinner talk on "Art & Anaerobic Infections." In addition, the Finegold Award will be presented for the best abstract and the Colgate-Palmolive Awards will be presented for the best student abstracts.
