Founded in 1992, The Anaerobe Society of the Americas is an
organization, promoting the study and application of knowledge of anaerobic
bacteriology. The primary
activity of the society is organizing the biennial Anaerobe
Congress for researchers,
clinicians, and laboratory scientists from around the world to engage in
presentations, exchanges, and
dialogues related to anaerobes.
Membership, offered in Doctorate, Non-Doctorate, Retired, and Student
categories, includes a discounted
subscription of the ANAEROBE journal.
The Anaerobe Society of the Americas (ASA) and the Society for
Microbial Ecology and Diseases (SOMED) jointly hosted ANAEROBE
2014 -- June 28-July 1, 2014 at the Westin River North Hotel in Chicago, IL
The ANAEROBE 2014 program consisted of a Pre- Congress Workshop, 16
general sessions of oral presentations, and 3 poster presentation sessions. Research presented
represented work by nearly 600 researchers from 38 countries.
